Description
“Leave It To Your BSA” Extremely rare original factory showroom display poster for BSA Motorcycles, circa 1940s. BSA motorcycles were produced by the Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited (BSA) in the United Kingdom until 1972. The present poster seems to show a couple riding an example of the BSA C11 produced from 1936 until 1956. The printing information in the bottom margin includes the code "42", this is definitely the 1940s and was owned by the family of a regional BSA importer who sold motorcycles only from 1946 until 1949. This poster is rare – for us the title retrieved no images of it or references to it when typed into google images – with 25 years of serious internet to behind us, the lack of any images is a testament to its rarity. The poster has been professionally conserved and laid-down on thick acid free linen by one of the best specialist firms in the United States, a company which handles and conserves paper materials for many major museums. It is now ready for framing!
Format: Linen backing: 83 x 57.5cm (Approx 32 ½ x 22 ½ inches) Poster: 73 x 47cm (Approx 28 ¾ x 18 ½ inches)
