    Description

    This is an extremely fine Soviet Order of the October Revolution that is in excellent condition. It is of three-piece construction, silver gilt planchet with perfect red enamel. The reverse is mint marked, "Monetny Dvor" and is with the hand engraved number "107164". The ribbon is mounted on five-sided aluminum back plate that is complete with functional pin assembly. A beautiful looking example that remains in excellent condition. The Order of The October Revolution was instituted on October 31, 1967, in time for the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was conferred upon individuals or groups for services furthering communism or the state, or in enhancing the defenses of the Soviet Union, military and civil. It was also awarded for outstanding courage and gallantry demonstrated in combat and meritorious service in strengthening the national defense of the Soviet State. It is the second-highest Soviet order, after the Order of Lenin.
