The group present for this operation were not prepared for what they found; they were unarmed and completely defenseless against the undead and B.O.W.'s, which proceeded to escape the facility, move to the surface and then out into the city. Almost immediately they began to attack the local population, spreading the infection at a monumental rate, with it becoming airborne in a matter of hours.
